Kensani Corrections is the joint venture partner to the GEO Group, a NYSE listed company and one of the largest providers of correctional and detention services in the world.
Kensani Corrections, through South African Custodial Services, was awarded the concession in 2000 to design, build, finance and operate the Kutama-Sinthumule Correctional Centre in the town of Makhado in the Limpopo province.
SACS is a PPP and, as such, has a 25-year concession with the Department of Corrections. The correctional facility has been in operation for 11 years and is regarded as one of the best examples of correctional services and rehabilitation in South Africa as a result of having achieved the following:

During the construction of the prison facility over a thousand women were recruited from the area and today the prison facility is staffed by a majority of local women.
